5 MUST Have Fall Pieces

Dress: Leith | Boots: Vince Camuto | Scarf: BP. | Crossbody: BCBG

Fall is here and it’s finally starting to cool down in Houston! I swear, it still felt like summer last week. So miserable when you just want to wear sweaters and boots all the time. I have rounded up five of my favorite must have pieces for fall and I wanted to share them with you all! Three of them are above in the pictures and the other two I linked for you below!

Black body con dress: This dress seriously needs to be in everyones closet. It comes in multiple colors and is such a good staple piece. You can wear it alone, with a scarf, with a sweater over it, with a cardigan over it and so many other ways! It is extremely flattering on everyone and is very soft and comfy. It is definitely worth the $59!

OTK Boots: These boots are GOLD! They are so easy to walk in and comfortable enough to wear for a full day. They come in four different colors and are currently on sale. I have gotten so much wear out of them already and love that they match with so much.

Anything cheetah or leopard: I am obsessed with all things cheetah for fall. It is so easy to match and dresses any outfit up! This leopard scarf is only $19!! I also love these cheetah booties that I got that are under $35!

Leather Leggings: I got my leggings last year and have worn them SO much. You can pretty much put them on under any top with a pair of boots or booties and have the cutest fall outfit. These leggings are very flattering and are definitely worth the money spent.

Velvet booties: I LOVE the velvet trend that is happening right now! I love mixing prints textures and your shoes are an easy way to do so! There are so many pairs that I love like these, these and these!

What to Wear to Fall Weddings

Dress: Similar | Shoes: Target | Crossbody: BCBG

Happy Wedding Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Patrick and I are leaving today to go to Dallas for a wedding he is in and I have had the hardest time deciding what to wear! It’s a fall wedding but the temperature is still so back and forth! I figured it was fitting to share with you all tips on what to wear to a fall wedding!

This dress is a perfect example of what I would wear to a wedding during this time of year. Unfortunately it sold out but I have linked some similar ones below! It’s long sleeve so it looks “fallish” but still cool enough to wear if it’s 85 degrees like it has been here in Houston! This dress is so cute paired with heels to dress it up or booties/boots to make it more casual. I paired it with these cheetah booties to give it a pop of pattern and this suede cross body. Suede is perfect for anything in the fall and the best part about this bag is it looks great with anything!

I rounded up a few other dresses that are perfect for fall weddings and put them in the carousel below! Although fall weddings can be hard to dress for, the best thing to do is go off the weather and the type of wedding. Take a more casual dress and dress it up with closed toed heels and you’re good to go! If the wedding is more casual, boots are a great choice to make an outfit less dressy. If you are unsure of the type of attire, the best thing to do is ask the bride. My rule of thumb is it is better to be over-dressed than under-dressed!

Are you tired of seeing bell sleeves on everything? I sure hope not! I am obsessed and this sweater will be on major repeat during the next few months! ย The bell sleeves are so cute and trendy and are definitely a huge thing this year.

I paired this sweater with these boots and this hat for a casual look for everyday wear! These boots are so comfortable and are so easy to throw on with many different outfits. They are also on SALE! JORD Watch Giveaway

I’ll start this post off by saying I love jewelry. Y’all I buy so much jewelry but then I forget to wear it. It’s so sad. I probably forget to wear it because let’s be real, I am usually running out of the house late to wherever I’m going. I usually stick to my Apple watch, but when I found the JORD watches, I loved the look of them. They are super light, trendy, and will honestly never go out of style.

Whenever I learned about JORD watches, I immediately LOVED the design of the watch and what the company quote that you can find on their website!ย “The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.” This stood out to me so much. JORD Watches uses a number of sustainable woods to create the perfect timepiece. The watches are very modern looking and will go with any outfit you have on like this pink sweater!

I chose the Frankie 35 series watch in zebrawood and champagne. When I put it on, the size of the face was perfect on my wrist. I have super small wrists so finding a watch face that doesn’t look too big is hard for me to do! Since I received the watch, I have literally worn it every day! I have received tons of compliments from people too! JORD has a variety of both women’s watches and men’s watches and would be the perfect gift for Christmas, a birthday, or any other special occasion! They are a great price range and have a different style for anyone’s taste. The best thing is they can be engraved! Definitely a gift that won’t go unnoticed!

If you have been wanting a JORD watch or you now want one after reading this, today is your LUCKY DAY! JORD and I have partnered up and we are doing a giveaway! One lucky Little Bit of Living reader will receive $100 off a JORD watch of their choice, and everyone who enters the giveaway will receive $25 off a watch until December 31, 2017.

CLICK HERE to enter the JORD Watch Giveaway!ย

The contest will begin on Friday, October 13th and end on Sunday, October 29th! Good luck friends!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Mustard Off-The-Shoulder Sweater + Honey Bun Cake

Sweater: BP Shoes: Sam Edelman Shorts: Express Crossbody: Tory Burch

Y’all, I’m so ready for the cold weather!! I swear people are looking at me like I’m crazy right now because I’m wearing sweaters and shorts but I just love fall clothes so much! This sweater is perfect for transitioning into the cooler months. It’s so cute with shorts right now and with pants when it’s not 90 degrees outside. The mustard color is such a trendy color right now. I never thought I would like it on me until I put the color on and now I seriously want to buy every thing I see in this color! It’s super light and airy so you won’t get too hot in it wearing it now!

Now let’s talk about these mules I paired with it. I am obsessed and they’re on SALE. They are super comfortable and seriously go with anything. I am such a fan of the print. They’re definitely a pair of shoes that everyone needs in their closet for fall! The heel on them is gold and looks so adorable.

Okay so this recipe for honey bun cake I shared below is something that you all need to make ASAP! It’s so tasty! My bridesmaid Sara made it for my first wedding shower and I think I’ve made it three times since then. I told her it’s her fault for introducing it to me if I don’t fit in my wedding dress. I make it gluten free and it still is SO good. It’s perfect for breakfast or for a sweet snack!

1 box yellow cake mix

4 eggs

3/4 cup vegetable oil

1 stick melted butter

4 tbs sugar

1 cup milk

MIX THESE INGREDIENTS TOGETHER (I used my Kitchen Aid mixer and it made mixing so easy!)

In a separate bowl, mix..

3/4 cup brown sugar

4 tsp cinnamon

Make it:

Pour 1/2 cake mix batter into greased 9X13 pan

Sprinkle 1/2 cinnamon mixture over batter

Repeat steps 1 and 2

Swirl in with butter knife

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes

1 cup powdered sugar

4 tbs milk

Drizzle icing over cake while still warm

I hope everyone has a great Monday! Feel free to message me or email me if you have any questions!

Wedding Wednesday: What to Wear to Your Own Bridal Shower

Hi Friends! It’s Wednesday which means another #Wedding Wednesday Post! Wednesday also means we are halfway through the week! YAY! I have had a lot of people ask me about reccomendations to wear to your own wedding shower. I am going to answer a few of the questions I have received from you all about bridal shower attire! I am the first girl in my family to get married so I have had to figure out a lot on my own! Google can only help so much so I wanted to share what I have found and the advice I have for other brides!

Do I have to wear white to my bridal shower?

White is definitely the classic bride color, but I definitely don’t think that it is a must that you wear it! I was talking to my mom about this and she said it was never a thing when she got married that the bride always wear white. In my opinion, it does make you stand out if you are wearing white. The color white is associated with the bride and people will definitely know you are the bride in white and typically no one else will show up in white. If you can’t find a dress in white or ivory that you like then a dress with a white or ivory base with a pattern would be perfect too.

What do I wear?

I think a dress and heels is the best thing to wear to your shower. A romper would also be cute! If your shower is not as dressy, jeans and a pretty white top and heels would be perfect. The easiest way to decide what to wear is by determining the theme of your shower and deciding if it is formal or informal. You can determine this by looking at your invitation and talking to the host of the shower. Another way to decide this is by looking at the venue. My personal opinion is that it is always better to be overdressed than underdressed. No one wants to show up to their own shower underdressed, am I right?!

Do I have to wear heels or can I wear sandals or flats?

This is definitely your own person preference! If you like to wear heels or wedges, then I say go for it! I always feel more dressed up with I have on a good pair of shoes! If you are the type that hates heels and only wears flats, then I definitely wouldn’t wear them! You don’t want your feet to be uncomfortable and don’t want to be out of your comfort zone at your own shower.

Rule of Thumb

White or creme are good colors to wear because they differentiate you from the rest. If you prefer other colors, then go for it! There are definitely no rules that you HAVE to follow. This is your day and you should wear what you feel best in. BUT, definitely avoid black because it is more of a mourning color.

Definitely choose something for your shower that you are comfortable in and that you feel beautiful in. You don’t want to look back at pictures and think to yourself, “What in the world am I wearing?” Whether it be a dressy or casual dress, jeans and a top, romper or just a sundress, be comfortable and feel confident in what you’re wearing ๐Ÿ™‚ This is definitely a time where you can dress up and I never turn down a chance to dress up!

I hope this post can help all of you future brides! I have linked some of my favorite outfits that I think would be perfect for a bridal shower as well as what I am wearing for my second shower next weekend! If you have any questions or have anything specific you would like to see on my wedding Wednesday posts, feel free to reach out! I love to hear y’alls feedback!
