Our Rehearsal Dinner

Wedding Wednesday is back again! I love doing these posts because it lets me relive our wedding! I always tell Patrick that I wish we could relive our wedding weekend every weekend, but without all the planning! Lol. Don’t get me wrong, I actually loved our whole wedding planning process but it is a lot of work that you don’t realize until you’re already in it!

Our rehearsal dinner kicked off our weekend and truly was a party before the wedding! Since we had a large wedding, our rehearsal dinner was also big! We had around 110 people at the rehearsal dinner and I loved getting to visit and see family and friends before the actual wedding because we were able to visit with them before. It was so hard to visit with every single person at our wedding so seeing close friends and family at the rehearsal dinner made it a little more intimate.

We had the rehearsal dinner at The Flour Mill in Mckinney and it was such a beautiful venue. My mother-in-law and my wedding planner did such an amazing job with the theme and decorations. The venue is an actual old mill and has so much character. Most everything in the building is what was originally in it. The wooden floors and ceiling beams were some of my favorite things of the building. They decorated similar to how we decorated at the wedding and kept everything mostly neutrals and pinks. It was perfect and more than I could have ever imagined!

For dinner we had mexican food catered from Blue Mesa and it was delicious! My only request to Patrick’s mom was mexican food because let’s be real, who doesn’t want mexican food? Instead of a cake, we did donuts! Every single person complimented them and told us it was something they had never seen before! Donut walls and donut tables are becoming so popular for weddings and events! We had Krispy Kreme do the regular donuts and had gluten free cake donuts made by Pinch of Salt Pastries! They were amazing! We took the left over donuts to the venue the next day for everyone to eat while they were getting ready and it made the perfect little snack.

We had a video put together of Patrick and I from our childhood and pictures from our time together that we played during dinner, and then after dinner his dad, my dad, and Patrick and I gave speeches. We did our thank you speech the night of the rehearsal to our parents and close friends and family because we knew it would be chaotic at the wedding and we didn’t want to forget it! It made it more special in a more intimate setting and was easier for me because I hate public speaking! lol. After the video, dinner, and speeches, our DJ opened the dance floor and we all just danced and talked and had a great time!

Our rehearsal dinner was a bit more extravagant than usual rehearsal’s, but I loved it because it really kicked off the weekend. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the post! Let me know if you have any questions!
