Happy wedding Wednesday! I am so excited that life has settled down and I can finally finish up my wedding Wednesday series on the blog. Our wedding day was seriously the best day of our lives and there is so much I am excited to share with you guys.
When Patrick and I got married, I already had a vision in my head of what the day would look like. We wanted an outside wedding with an inside reception. After looking at three or four venues, we fell in love The Springs in Anna, TX. It was timeless, and exactly what we wanted. When we were booking our venue we thought Patrick’s company was moving him to Dallas, so that’s where we booked it! About a month later, we found out that his company was moving us to Houston so a wedding planner was a must because we weren’t going to be there 24/7. We used Bella Blooms Couture and Florals and Posh Events and Mary Frances was a dream to work with. She made my vision a reality and I am so thankful for everything she did for me! The best part was she became a friend of the family!
Our whole weekend was so fun and special to everyone involved. It was full of laughter, happy tears, friend, family, dancing, and so many amazing memories. We started out the weekend with our rehearsal dinner and that was a party itself! I am going to do a separate blog post next week all about our rehearsal dinner. Patrick’s mom worked with our wedding planner to do that all and it was amazing. Saturday was our wedding and we started off the morning with rehearsal. We had to rehearse the morning of the wedding because there was a wedding at our venue Friday night. It worked out well because everyone remembered what to do by the wedding. I rehearsed with Patrick’s best-man and Patrick rehearsed with my MOH, my sister. After rehearsal, we spent the day getting ready. The boys spent the early afternoon at brunch at a restaurant close to our venue and then came back to the venue to get dressed. I had 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, 3 house party girls, and 3 ushers. It took the girls awhile to get dressed because there were quite a few of us! We had 2 girls doing our hair and 1 makeup artist. We used Tousled Studio for hair and Ashlan Glaze for makeup. They were both amazing and did exactly what everyone wanted!
The ceremony was beyond perfect. The pastor that married us was the pastor of our church my family went to when I was growing up. He made the ceremony so personal and so special to us. Patrick and I had many FaceTime talks with him before the wedding so he really got to know Patrick and know about our relationship. My favorite part of the ceremony was having all of my favorite people in one spot hearing the word of Jesus. Although it was all such a blur to us, we had so many amazing compliments from people on our ceremony. I was so nervous about the ceremony because it was SO incredibly windy and SO sunny and I was worried about flowers blowing over or my veil blowing off! Although I could barely see because the sun was in my face the whole time, everything went perfect and it was more than I could ever ask for.
During our cocktail hour while the wedding party was taking pictures, we had mariachis for the guests inside. I didn’t get to see them at all and truly wish we would have had them for another hour so I could’ve enjoyed them! My family loves mariachis and this was one of my favorite things we did. Another one of my favorite things at our reception was the live painter that we had. I found Renata Sharman online and reached out to her but then decided it wasn’t going to fit within our wedding budget. Patrick ended up surprising me with her for a Christmas present and I am SO thankful she was there. We had her paint our wedding ceremony and it is now one of my favorite things hanging in our house. Once we got inside, Patrick and I had our first dance, my dad and I danced, Patrick and his mom danced and then we ate! Before the wedding, I met with our DJ and had a voice over of me reading a letter to my parents added into my dad and I’s song. I got the idea from our wedding planner, and it was SO special. The whole room was crying and it made for such a special moment for my dad and I. After dinner, the dance floor opened up and the party got started! I might be biased but our reception was the most fun party I have ever been to. I don’t think I stopped dancing one time!
Our wedding weekend was the best weekend ever and I truly with we could relive it over and over again. Although there were a few bumps in the road (I’ll do a blog post with our wedding regrets and bumps in another post), everything went better than I could ever imagine. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and look forward to the ones coming! I have shared pictures above, and our highlight video and full wedding video below! Thanks for stopping by!
